Under the scheme, young entrepreneurs who are native or permanent residents of the state and wish to become self-employed will be provided with loan facilities through Nationalized/Scheduled Commercial Banks, State Co-operative Banks, and Regional Rural Banks. This will enable them to start their own enterprise, service, or business.
The scheme aims to provide self-employment opportunities to small and marginal farmers, as well as unemployed residents of the state, by encouraging them to establish solar power plants on land that is unsuitable for agriculture. Additionally, it enables them to sell the electricity generated to UPCL, thereby creating a source of income.
Entrepreneurs who are native or permanent residents of the state and require minimal capital can avail a collateral-free loan of up to Rs. 50,000 under the Mudra Loan Scheme (Shishu) for Micro (Nano) Enterprises, as part of the Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana.
Projects in industries such as agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, poultry, fisheries, and meat processing, with a value up to Rs. 50,000, will be financed by banks without the need for collateral.
Uttarakhand's first self-employment scheme, the 'Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Paryatan Swarojgar Yojna,' was launched on June 1, 2002. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide maximum self-employment opportunities in the tourism sector to the residents of Uttarakhand, with a particular focus on the youth.
The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grah Aawas Vikas Yojna, launched by the Uttarakhand government, aims to enhance the experience of tourists and improve the financial condition of local residents by offering their homes as tourist accommodations.
Launched in 2018, the scheme seeks to prevent migration, create employment, and promote local culture and products.
